Sergeants’ Corner: Brad Thompson and Stan Mcgirvin roamed the roamed the room assessing late fine to President Simmons for being late tothe board meeting and the weekly presidential fine. Duke Wiggins was fined for being late to the Board meeting. Bob Tolar paid for celebrating his 53rd wedding anniversary. Bradleft us with the challenge of each member to ask what they can do for the club this week. We need to build the club back to 75+ members tosupport our various projects during the year. If each member brings oneguest this year, we can accomplish this task.
Presentation of Amtrykes:
Brad andDoug presented Dylan Hiatt and his mother Tessa with his new Tryke, and he rode it right of the building.Amdre Nislypreviously had experience with Amtrykes. so he had no problem maneuvering around the tables on his own.
Program:
Brenda Maxie is the CEO of Tech, Inc. She brought us an update on the status of their various programs, primarily funding. She expressed her concernabout the politics in Topekaon funding Health Home programs in Kansas. It wasfunded 90% by federal funds and needs only a 10% match from the state. By discontinuing that 10% match by an executive order of the administration, all of those federal dollars went away.On a brighter note,she discussed the progress on relocating their headquarters to the newly refurbished Wiley Building. This would give the programsmore exposure and consolidate everything under one roof.
