PROGRAM:
Scott Horton introduced Lance Patterson the Branch Director with the Boys & Girls Club of Hutchinson. Lance moved back to Hutchinson a year ago to work for the Boys & Girls Club after working for Boys & Girls Clubs in Indianapolis, Indiana the past two years and also for two years in Manhattan, KS, while attending college. There are over 3,000 Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide. Our club averages 200 youth every day after school with 300 during the summer months.
They try to meet all childrens need as well as those with mental, emotional, physical and financial needs. They formulate an individualized plan to meet each childs particular needs. They offer five Core Areas of Programming with trained professionals assisting to meet these needs. They are Character & Leadership, Education and Career Development, Health & Life skills, the Arts and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. The goal being to instill in each member a Sense of Competence, Sense of Usefulness, Sense of Belonging and a Sense of Power or Influence. Their main facility is located, in the old Shadduck Community Center, at 600 W. 2nd with a satellite location at the Hutchinson High School campus for children with special needs. The Hutchinson club has continually been chosen as a model for other clubs across the country.

FINES
Jeff Brewer and Lori Hopp filled in as Sgt. at Arms during Bobs absence this week. They fined Randall Haltom and Jeff Frizell for being late to the meeting. Ward Davis fined a Klondike Tax for having his Jet Ski out in 25-degree weather (maybe just wishful thinking). Paul Brown fined for abusing the Sgt.s verbally (as usual). Jay Pitzer fined for making the Pope sick during his visit to Vatican City last week (it was rumored to be West Arkansas River disease). Eric Steinle bought a fine on Brad Thompson since he had missed so many meeting he figured he owed a membership renewal tax. Duke Wiggins will be working as Manager Saturday during the tournament so Lori & Eric were commended for creative scheduling (since Managers will not actually handle or print shirts).
50/50 Pot Winner
Newsletter Winner
Eric Steinle won $20.00.
It was almost enough for a Texas Holdem buy-in.
Jo Ann Williams would have won
$15.00 had she had her newsletter with her.
The pot increases to $20.00 next week.
