Sergeants Corner: Sgts Thompson and Mcgirvin returned this week and kicked the fining off with the weekly presidents tax on Pres Jeff. They followed up by fine this editor for wearing his Big Hat a week early 2 weeks ago. Guy Gann was fined for losing his badge. Eric Steinle was fined for showing up after many weeks and being early. Darren Wicks paid for being seen riding a bike and carrying a weed eater at the same time. Fred C and Tom H were fined for investing far too much in 50/50 tickets. Harley M paid to advertise the Red Cross Golf Tournament and Eric S offered his praise for the American Legion Boys State program.
Member Installation: Carol Carr, sponsored by Brad Thompson, was President Roberson’s first new member installation.
Program: Diane Blick Introduced the plans for the D-Day celebration to be held on Saturday June 7th. It grew out of a chance meeting that, thanks to her many contacts within the community blossomed into a major celebration honoring our veterans for their many sacrifices for our freedom.
Drawings: The Lucky Aces winning ticket was held by Fred. Since it was the Ace of Clubs (sorry Fred) he took home $5.00. The total pot now stands at $505, so load up on tickets at the next meeting. The Newsletter drawing went to Jim Seitnater who did not know the answer. The pot now stands at $25. The question for next meeting is Who gave the invocation at the June 7th Veterans Celebration?
