Hutchinson Ambucs
Newsletter editor: Tom Hymer
Guests:
Rev. Tim Ault-Duell, who will present todays program, was introduced by Doug Foss. Jerry Hill was the guest of Jim Shaw and will become a new member today (see below). Terry Brigman introduced past presidents Jim Bearce and George Kinney. They even dug out their Big Hats. Being that January 30th was the fifth Friday of the month the Big Hats take over the meeting. Extra Big Hat Chief Duke Wiggins opened the meeting.
The Sergeants Playground was usurped by the Big Hats:
Therefore Jeff Brewer and his side kick Steve Conard roamed the room collecting fines from innocent Ambucs who were just minding their own business. Some victims included Bob Bush, Scott Saylor, and Ward Davis for things the editor cant remember. Undoubtedly their offenses were trumped up. Guest George Kinney paid for but left behind his 50/50 tickets. Then JB and SC brought forth the Presidential Business Bag. Among other relics in the bag, there was a huge, giant-sized gavel. Past presidents were coerced into coughing up money for this trip down memory lane. Other guilty people were Reta Campbell for avoiding an Ambuc, is that possible? No Big Hat on Head fines included Eric Steinle, Tony Powers, and the usual Guy Gann. Steve Conard announced that he is now a proud Grandpa and did he pay the usual tax of $1 per pound for a new baby in the family?
Adventures of The Round Tuit:
New member Dane Power learned the beauty of toting the Tuit because Duke Wiggins and Doyle Ehling asked about at Church, however Doug Foss did not. Also Steve Harmon forgot to extend his care and concern about the Tuit. Dane handed off the Tuit to the dangerous Darren Wickes, beware and be alert, and show that you care about the Tuit if you should encounter Darren.

Program:
Doug Foss introduced Rev. Tim Ault-Duell who presented a program about Nothing but Nets. Tim, who is the pastor at South Hutchinson Methodist Church, talked about mosquito nets for the children in Africa to protect them from contracting malaria. This program has wide support within the world-wide Methodist Church, the United Nations, corporate sponsors ESPN network, the Bill and Melissa Gates foundation. The program was created by a bishop in the Methodist Church of Africa who lost his daughter to malaria. Many people, mostly children, in Africa are afflicted with malaria. Because of the extreme poverty that prevails in Africa countless lives are lost due to malaria. $10 buys a net including the delivery. Money is raised in various ways, Pastor Tim recounted his Walk to Wichita campaign in June and July last year that raised $2000 in donations. You can learn more about Nothing but Nets by going to their web site www.nothingbutnets.net. A big thank you is in order for Pastor Tim for an informative program and his work in it.
