TUIT
Brad “The TUITs Daddy” Thompson collected from the following for not asking: Terry Brigman, Chuck Peterson, Jeff Brewer and Ward Davis.
Apparently, Big Brad drove past this editors house on a repeated basis to impose a fine.
Then, adding insult to injury, he passed the TUIT on to this editor and left town so it could not be returned!
FINES
Sgt. Ward and his little buddy Brad T. morphed into their revenue producing mode with a late fine for Eric S. for the board meeting and a mystery fine for Scott Saylor.
Randy H. was fined for his “convincing” recorded flood calls. Tom Hymer got a taste of his own medicine with a D.B. Society fine. Jeff B. was fined for not having the Sgt.s back last week. Doc P. commandeered the wait staff to get the club to sing “Happy Birthday” to him for his 83rd birthday on July 21. Doug F. bought a fine to have Sheriff Henderson reimbursed. Duke bought a fine for missing a train citation.
PROGRAM
Randy Hendrickson, Program Chairperson, introduced Dr. Bryan Wohlwend, pediatrician at the Hutchinson Clinic as our guest speaker.
Dr. Wohlwend is a volunteer at Camp Hope, the premier summer camp for children with cancer. The Hutchinson AMBUCS have been a proud sponsor of the camp for its entire 25 year existence. The camp is held at Camp Aldrich, north of Ellinwood, at the facility maintained by Barton County Community College. Children with cancer ages 7 to 18 are eligible to attend. This years camp had 64 campers and 90 volunteers. Campers are treated to fishing, swimming, golf, basketball, bowling, movies, games and a fireworks display.
All medical needs of the campers are provided on site at the camp so that they may participate in the activities. The camp was started by Donna Brown, of McPherson, and is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
