PROGRAM

Bob Hickman, Preparedness Coordinator for the Reno County Health Department, was introduced as our speaker by Randy Henderson.

Mr. Hickman gave details regarding preparations for pandemic flu. This is not a new strain of flu, but a flu outbreak of catastrophic proportions. Procedures need to be developed by businesses to adapt to situations where a majority of employees may be unavailable for an extended period of time or where supplies or services to your business are interrupted.

Current strains of flu virus such as the Avian or bird flu virus already carry a serious threat to life for those who contract this illness. Regular flu vaccinations can reduce the risk.
