TUIT REPORT
The TUIT was with Eric Steinle whereabouts unknown. Join us again next week, same place same time.
PROGRAM:
Scott Horton introduced Tiffany Cummins and Katie Wille. Tiffany and Katie explained the REDI program, which is available to all high school students in Reno County. REDI stands for Reno Entrepreneurial Development Institute, which is a part of DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America. It is located at the Quest Center at 9th and Main. They use laptop computers to write business plans and do business operation scenarios. They also tour area businesses and have guest speakers who offer business advice.
The students use their projects to compete in local, regional, state and international DECA competitions. The program has been in existence for 6 years and has an excellent track record. Class instructor is Kim Hoffman. Tiffany and Katie also told us about a class project Teens for Dreams where they are trying to collect 500 pairs of childrens tennis shoes for area underprivileged youth. Also, they are raising funds to donate to the Kansas Society for Crippled Children (KSCC). To make a donation of shoes or cash or for more information on either of these opportunities, contact Scott Horton.
