SGT. REPORT: Sgt. Troy had the assistance of Colby for the morning money laundering. Guy G., Randall H. and Kathy H. paid for not having badges. DarrenW. paid for spilling beverages at the Chamber Banquet (Becky provided a demonstration of how not to spill drinks). Duke and Harley paid for being late. Randall Haltom bought a fine for bragging on a new granddaughter, Ryann Paige Rizzo.
NEW MEMBER: President Brewer administered the oath to our newest member, J.R. Vigil, Midway Motors. Please welcome him!
PROGRAM: Kathy Hanks introduced Libertee Thompson, a Reno County Community Corrections officer. Libertee assists in the operation of the Reno County Drug Court. The Drug Court addresses chronic repeat offenders in the hopes of eliminating the crimes they commit. 81% of the program participants are not rearrested. Maximum capacity for the program is 32 people. Multiple agencies are involved including: Horizons Mental Health, Substance Abuse Center of Kansas, Mirror, Inc., Department of Children and Families, Communities That Care, Hutchinson Police Department, Reno County District Attorney, defense counsel and Judge McCarville. Seven months of sobriety with either employment or pursuit of education is required to graduate; with most requiring 18 months to graduate.
FEBRUARY 2 PROGRAM: A representative from Clay Works-Disability Supports will be our speaker for this meeting.
