SGT. REPORT: Sgt. Troy fined all who were not present at the State of the City address, then he fined the members who were present without pins. Brad T. was fined for not holding the door for Kathy H. last week. Chief Beer bought a fine to announce the Hutchinson Fire Department received a $25,000.00 donation from a citizen for firefighter equipment.
State of the City: Harley M. thanked all AMBUCS for their presence at the State of the City address and those who served on the committee. It is a very successful event and a part of Hutchinson’s culture now. Over 170 people attended the breakfast to hear our President, Jeff Brewer and Hutchinson City Manager, John Deardoff.
January 26 Speaker-Libertee Thompson will join us at breakfast to provide an update regarding the Reno County Drug Court program.
T-Shirt equipment has been sold to the Sons of the American Legion for $1500.00 down with another $1500.00 to be paid after the next NJCAA Basketball Tournament.
MEETING PROPOSAL: A discussion was held about the Board’s recommendation to change meeting times to the 1st and 3rd Fridays at Noon. The recommendation is intended to address the club’s dwindling membership. Topics of the discussion included: availability to attend, frequency of meetings, programming, competing activities at the noon hour and members efforts to invite guests. No decision has been made at this time. A further discussion will be held on February 23, 2018 at our regular breakfast. (also Kathy Hanks birthday!)
