Ambucs Weekly Meeting of Friday November 4, 2016
Todays guest, Keith Geist, Also Shelly Kiplinger Hutchinson USD 308 Superintendent and todays program.
Sergeant Jim Knipp put money in the pot on his own volition. Then he recruited Colby to collect taxes and fines. Whoa, he showed no mercy. Then a trivia game was introduced along the line of baseball history. In order to avoiding fines you needed to know certain news about when lights were installed in baseball stadiums, why a Billy goat became a curse, and other abstract baseball history.
Dave Shuler announced that he and Margo are moving to Colorado where many of their family members are living there. Dave has been an Ambuc for seventeen years and very active in the club serving in the Casino games and the Ice Cream Parlor.
Kiplinger delivered a comprehensive report of her management of the Hutchinson USD 308 Schools. Main areas of focus and achievement:
1. Writing and reading
2. Rate of inclusion of students in the classrooms.
3. Assessment scores
4. Challenge rewards for students who exceed the medium.
5. Progress in the middle school results
6. Getting the kids to continue fiction and non fiction reading
7. Phonics spelling
8. Lower rates of behavior problems.
9. Finance formulas
10. The uncertainly in the Supreme Court rulings
11. The rate of poverty as it concerns education
12. Parental responsibility
Troy won the Newsletter drawing for the meeting of November Fourth.
Troy also won the Lucky Ace and got $518.
