SARGEANTS’ CORNER: Tom Hymer and Dennis Reiser collected theweekly fine from President Simmons. A fine was levied upon all Edward Jones financial advisers for a reason this editor failed to hear. They even tried to include Jay Pitzer, who longer represents Edward Jones. Paul H paid to announce that we still had over 30 slots to fill on the Sweet Shoppe roster. He also reminded us that ice cream will be in on Saturday, Sept 3rd.We will pickups around 10.30, plus people to unload and deliver to Fred C in the freezer. Bob Tolar announced his 78th birthday with a baggie containing 78 pennies. I will enjoy delivering those to Mr. Grosshart.

PROGRAM: Charlotte Summers and Joan Brown are the curators of the museum atLair White House on the Kansas State Fairgrounds Each ofthe 3 years the museum has be open has featured a theme. Year 1celebrated the life of Bardo the clown prince of the fair who passed away earlier in the year.Year 2 was the Year of the Ride, celebrating the fair’s 100th anniversary. Year 3 has been dubbed the year of the Commercial Exhibitors. They have travelled the state and beyond to find artifacts for this year’s exhibit They have a number of Deere collectibles supplied by the Poltera family.A number of families have donated items that they had found while cleaning out garages and basements, including give-away items they had stored, They have a huge collectionof telephones going back to the old crank models. The museum is open daily during the fair.

DRAWINGS:

Lucky Aces – 50/50 pot went to Dwight Wiehl (second week in a row) – he got $5 – New total is $383Newsletter Drawing went to Fred C, who is out town. Question for next meeting “What is the Theme for this year’s White House Exhibit?”
