NEWSLETTER FOR THE MEETING OF 7/29/2016

SERGEANTS CORNER:

Since this was a Bat HatFriday, Brad T and Stan M did the fining. Since President Dorinda missed last week’s meeting, she paid $2 for her weekly fine. Guy Gann and Terry Brigman failed to wear their big hats, so they paid appropriate fines. Jeff Brewer paid to announce the he and Pat celebrated their 44th anniversary this week. Dan Power announced that his wife Shirley paddled her kyack 68 miles the prior weekend. Dan runs with her, but passes on the kyack.

PROGRAM:

I don’t know about the rest of the members, but I didn’t know Reno County had an Emergency Management Director. Adam Weishaar holds that position, and he explained whatthe job entails. Whenever an emergency occurs in the county, he is advised, disperses information to appropriate responders, and follows up with a report to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. His office is located in the Law Enforcement Center basement and is equipped with everything he needs to keep track of what’s going on in the area. He and his family live in the Buhler area.

COMMUNITY SERVICE MEETING AT 6:30ON AUGUST 5TH

DRAWINGS:

Lucky Aces – 50/50 drawing won by Terry Bisbee, who went home $5 richer. Total pot for August 5th meeting – $328Newsletter drawing went to Jay Pitzer, who had no idea. Pot increases to $20. Question for August 5th meeting “What did Shirley Power paddle for 68 miles?”
