SERGEANTS CORNER:

Sgt Knipp and deputy Connerroamed the room, collecting the weekly presedential fine from Dorinda.Sgt Knippfined this editor for not being able to decide if he was a sergeant or a sheriff (corrected the week). They then fined his boss Tom Hymer for noticing this oversite and correcting it. Kathy Hanks fined herself for not beating her speaker to the meeting, referred to by the sergeants as a stupid tax.

Terry Brigman introduced Katie Haas, who came today to give us an update on the progress of her studies. She is working towards a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and should complete her program sometime this year. She is attending school in St. Louis. She hopes to eventually train future physical therapists at a college level. She is a very vibrant and motivated young lady, and we wish her the best in the future.

Program:

Ron Fisher has been hired by the city of Hutchinson to direct a comprehensive plan for our city, looking forward to 2037 to see what we want our community to look like. A comprehensive plan is the process of establishing a collective vision for the future of a community and developing a blueprint for how that vision can be achieved. Each table was given a map of the city and a sheet to list issues and concerns facing our community. We spent the meeting completing the map by locating institutions and areas that are important to future of our community. He and his associates collected the results, which will be compiled with results from other meetings. This information will then be presented to a steering committee appointed by the City Council for its use. Public Meeting #1 will be held on July 28th at the Atrium Convention Center. The meeting will start at 6:00 PM and end at 8:PM

Drawings:

Lucky Aces – 50/50 pot was won by Katie Haas. Since the newsletter pot was not won because Doyle Ehling left before the drawing, the club voted to add $45 to Katie’s $5 to send her home with an even $50, which she will apply to her next tuition payment.Newsletter pot will start over at $10 this week. The Question for the meeting of July 22nd is “What National Ambuc Scholarship Winner attended this week’s meeting?
