PROGRAM: Jeff Roberson introduced Robert Bob R. Ross, Senior Vice President of Systems and Recovery; CTO with Data Center, Inc. (DCI). Bob has been with DCI for 15 years. Bob explained that DCI began as an idea in 1955 by Nation Meyer with First National Bank to combine several banks as a cooperative to process paper checks and share computer services. DCI was established in Hutchinson in 1963 by four Kansas bankers Nation Meyer, Art Collins, J.A. Mermis of Great Bend and Walther Roth of Ellinwood. Today DCI provides those banking services envisioned by Nation Meyer and a lot more too approximately 200 banks nationwide from four regional centers. A new replication center in Oklahoma City takes a snapshot every 5 minutes of all of the data in the system. Bob and others are working to reduce this snapshot window to instantaneous. Many banks are now 100% electronic imaged documentation. DCIs iCore360 software is state of the art in banking software and DCI continues to win numerous awards each year with their leading technology. DCI now employees over 250 employees. We are fortunate to have them headquartered right here in Hutchinson.
