THE WEEKLY FUND RAISER: Sergeants Brad and Stan collected a dollar from each member because nobody had a guest. After that the newsletter editor had to redeem his IOU that was beyond the statute of limitations, but that didnt matter. Darren Wicks was fined for something, probably being the president last year. Terry Brigman paid for being in the newspaper and fines were levied on some dealers for misbehaving at the Casino Night at Holy Cross. Sergeant Brad started a discussion about resuscitating the Tuit and somehow Bob Bush was involved and paid for having an opinion? Before ringing the bell President Dane was fined for being one, and then ring ring.
PRESIDENT DANE POWER: Initial results for the Ice Cream Parlor produced a profit of about $12,800 after deducting the cost of goods. But outstanding are the expenses for freezer repairs.
ICE CREAM PARLOR PROJECT: Friday October 18th the Ice Cream Parlor Project members will meet at 6:15am at the Town Club. Anyone else interested in this Project is invited to attend.
PROGRAM: Program Manager Jeff Roberson introduced Executive Director of the Fox Theatre Randy Matthews. The Fox is an outstanding venue for performers like Doc Severinsen and his Big Band, Movies including the Phantom of the Opera, and the upcoming performance of Ring of Fire which celebrates the life and music of Johnny Cash that will offer two hours of great country music on Thursday October 24, 2013 at 7:30pm. Mr. Matthews discussed the challenges of acoustics in the Fox that are at times technical and solutions are expensive. On line ticket purchases are available at www.hutchinsonfox.com
50/50 DRAWING: No one claimed having the winning ticket so pot of $16 was donated to Fox. NEWSLETTER DRAWING, Chuck Petersons name was drawn, but he was absent. For $35 the Newsletter question for the meeting on October 18th is what is the next upcoming performance at the Fox?
THE BIG HATS AT WORK: 1. The membership campaign will offer shirts to all who bring guests. 2. Beginning November 1st the 50/50 pot will be converted into a Lucky Aces Pot by which the winner each week will draw a card from a deck of cards. The Joker gets nothing, any card besides the Ace of Spades get $5. Ace of Spades wins the 50/50 pot according to what has accumulated in it. 3. Big Hat money will help members to attend Ambuc conventions.
