AMBUCS Newsletter 9/9/2011

Editor: Jeff Roberson

Guest: Dr. Terry Stofferson

Sergeants: Due to a misunderstanding there was no program today. So, Darrin Wicks got fined a $1 since we should have had a program. In Darrins defense we usually meet at the Ice Cream Booth on this Friday. The Sergeants were in charge for a bit longer than usual this morning, extracting fines for not having pins or cards among other things. We did have a few slots to fill for the booth which were quickly filled. Jay got fined for failing to mention AMBUCS in his radio spot. Scott mentioned that the TUIT may be resurrected in some form for fall awareness which was met with some booing of the crowd. Today was Diannes last day with us. She is retiring and apparently her husband is a member of the Civitan club and he thinks she should go to his meetings. We suggested that he become an AMBUC and that she is welcome to visit.

Announcements: Things are up and rolling at the Ice Cream Booth. A multitude of waffle cones had waffle bowels have already been made-up. Jay again is looking for help for the Cause for Paws Casino night coming up on September 24th. Please see Jay to sign up. If you are new to the club and want to learn how the Casino works, this is an on-the-job training opportunity. All you need to do is sign up and show up with black slacks and a white shirt.

Board Meeting: The Board held a meeting this morning. Out of the meeting Curtis visited with us on how we can increase membership with our club. Junior memberships were discussed as a way to help out the Young Professionals become members. If you have thoughts and ideas regarding membership, please feel free to e-mail, call, or otherwise harass Curtis with your ideas. The Fall meeting in Oklahoma City again was brought up. As of Fridays meeting no one has signed up to go. If you are interested in representing our club please contact Curtis.

Drawings: 50/50 for $32 was won by Jim Jacobs.

Dennis Reiser was picked for the newsletter and he didnt know the answer. So, next week it is up to $25.
