TUIT: Di Saunders was back but unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to look at it, lost the TUIT while on vacation in Tucson, Arizona. Stay tuned for further updates.

Program: Tom Hymer began by sharing his personal experience as a big brother or Big for an 11 year old Little named Andy. He then introduced Lynette Mitchell Smith, Executive Director and Tomi Ann Faust, Marketing and Public Relations Director with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Reno County. They are located on the Southeast corner of 9th and Main. They help at-risk boys and girls ages 5-17 years through long-term, personal relationships with carefully screened, caring volunteers. They currently have over 220 children matched with volunteers. Unfortunately they have another 100+ children waiting for a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple or Big Family. Locally over 3,000 children have been served. Being a Big is a two-way relationship where both individuals each get and give from the relationship. While the organization stops monitoring the relationship once the children turn 18 some of the relationships carry on for years. They showed a video of a news story that Good Morning America aired covering the 30+ year relationship of a Big and a Little who are now 96 and 37 years old respectively. The national organization is 95 years young. Please contact them at 662-8161 if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

50/50 Drawing: Rick Mitchell won $29. Talk about pulling a rabbit out of a hat!!

Newsletter Drawing: Darren Wicks answer of lucky charms was not correct to the question of: In the newest installment of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, What two charms is Bella given by Jacob and Edward? The correct answer was a hand-carved wolf from Jacob and a heart-shaped diamond from Edward. The purse increases to $15. This weeks question is: What was the date of the first edition of The Hutchinson News and where was it printed?

Due to the speed at which the news occurs I sincerely apologize for any content errors!
