HUTCHINSON AMBUCS NEWSLETTER Duke Wiggins Editor

Guests: Karen Vidrickson, our current District Governor & Vicky Tangeman, incoming District Governor, both from the Salina Noon Network Chapter; Anne Potucek wife of President Scott; Bobbi Gann, wife of former District Governor Guy Gann; Valerie Harper daughter of Anita Warren, for her second visit; and our youngest member Colby, son of Ward Davis.

Sergeants Playground: Sheriffs Knipp and Hendrickson patrolled the meeting for their last time as a team. Remember the front-page article in the Hutch News sometime last spring featuring our own Jim Seitnater? Apparently Sgt Knipp was reading back issues and noticed no AMBUC pin on his lapel. $1 for the oldest fine in history. Randy Henderson, the real Sheriff, paid for his email sent to John to update him on programs through June and not referring to the TUIT which John was carrying at the time. But, enough with old fines. Dan P had a stand-off at the food line this morning, as Dan refused to enter the line before the Sheriff (as is the rule) and John just stood there and smiled. That cost Dan $1. Guy G paid for not informing Bobbi of the TUITs whereabouts before John got to her. And, finally John paid a $1 to recognize Ward D for being a good AMBUC citizen for helping a damsel in distress with a flat tire.

The TUIT finally returned from Jamaica, and with pictures, too. Most featured the TUIT with someone with a drink in his hand. One even had some topless sunbathers in the background. I think Mr. Harmon discovered the Tequila Sunrise while in the islands. No wonder he was gone for two weeks. Also, the TUIT was present at the Main Street Hops, as a whole list of AMBUC attendees were having too much fun to notice the TUIT sneaking up on them. The TUIT has now taken up residence with BILL LONG, so beware of unexpected clothing sales next week.

Announcements: Karen V and Vicky T from Salina were in attendance to announce the nomination of two Hutchinson AMBUCS for special rewards at national this year. Randy Henderson is Karens choice for National Program Chairman of the year and Jay Pitzer is her choice for National AMBUC of the Year. Both will be ratified by the Great Plains Region and will be submitted to National, with the award to be handed out at the National Meeting in Naples, FL. Congratulations to both Randy and Jay and a big AMBUC thank you for all their hard work during the year.

Program: Scott Saylor introduced Don Rogers, director of Sales and Operations for Stutzman Refuse Disposal, Inc, located in South Hutchinson, KS. The company has been in business since 1957, providing residential, commercial, and industrial refuse services to an expanding market in Kansas. Their newest and most exciting expansion is into the multi-billion dollar recycling industry. SRD has the only single stream recycling processing plant in central Kansas, placing all recyclable products in one container and processing through their facility in South Hutchinson to recycled by-products for the market place. Their largest single customer for these by-products is Johns Manville in McPherson, KS. Check their website at www.stutzman refuse.com for more information.

Drawings: The 50/50 pot went to Rick Mitchell; the newsletter drawing would have gone to Jeff Frizell, had he been there. The pot goes to $15 next week. The question for next week is name the Hutchinson AMBUCS who were honored at the meeting on the 28th and for what awards were they nominated by Karen V?

Future Meetings: June 4th Jessica Miller, hosted by Ward Davis; June 18th Captain Troy Hoover of the HPD, hosted by Randy Henderson.
