FUN WITH THE SERGEANTS:
Our real Sergeants are back and primed for collecting for the kids. As AMBUCS, we are concerned about the political process now taking place. To test this theory, Sgt Knipp asked for a show of hands from those who watched the recent Presidential Debate. Those who didnt respond got to fork over a $1.
A little bird finked on Jeff B, who spent considerable time searching for his car keys this week. After ignoring his wifes suggestion to check to car, he did so, and found the keys in the trunk. That ought to be worth $1. Those fined for being late were Greg W, Eric S, Randle H, and Stan M.
Steve H returned with the TUIT and – guess what – its now BLUE. Those who failed to acknowledge the TUIT were Jeff B, Preston C, Steve C, and Ward D, who each anted up their $1. Add Jeff F and Lee G to the list as they did not make the meeting. More penalties for those who failed to inform their spouse who is the carrier. Both Stan M and Jay P paid for having uninformed wives. Eric S paid for not mentioning the TUIT in his e-mail. The TUIT now resides with Tom H.

Main Street will be blocked off beginning this afternoon from 3rd street south to Avenue B, where the cars will be on display. Their will be a Poker Run on Saturday and a raffle later in the day, with funds raised going to the Boys & Girls Club of Hutchinson. The Fox Theatre is joining in the fun by showing two movies on Saturday afternoon the classic Rebel without a Cause, starring James Dean and Grease, with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. There will be activities for the youngsters and even Hot Rod Church on Sunday morning. I think there was mention of a Beer Garden in the middle of all the activities. Approximately 200 vehicles are reregistered, and organizers anticipate up to an additional 100 drive-in entrants on Saturday. The event is being supported by the Downtown City Center merchants as well as numerous local businesses. Dean, along with fellow promoter and AMBUC member Jerry Garcia, are excited about this event and hope to make it an annual event.
