FINES: Sgt. Ward Davis was seeking a number of AMBUCS who were missing so the list is short. Steve C. was fined for talking to Steinle. Tom Stanton was fined for talking on the radio and not mentioning AMBUCS. Stan M. and Jay P. were fined for ignoring the Sgt. Duke was fined for being the newsletter editor for next year.

(he gave Darren the TUIT!) and Pat F. Ward D. paid for not asking at Dillons and over the weekend. Tom Stanton is now the proud holder of the TUIT (it was left for him while he was out of the room).

PROGRAM: Tom Stanton introduced Diane Caton and Chelsea Barker of YouthFriends as our program. YouthFriends connects young people, ages 5-18, with caring adult volunteers in school. Mentoring services are offered to the children through programs such as Read With Me, Classroom Match and Breakfast or Lunch Buddy. The needs of area children are obvious when you consider the following: 1. 50% of young males come from single parent households without a male role model, 2. 56% of children in Hutchinson Public Schools qualify for free or reduced cost meals and 3. many 5th graders cannot read at grade level. Volunteers are always welcome. If you can spare a couple of hours a week, please make an investment in the life of a child. YouthFriends phone no.: 620-665-4418.
