Club Announcements
AMBUCS OLD FASHIONED ICE CREAM BOOTH: The first and only order of business for the next two weeks is our Ice Cream Booth at the Kansas State Fair. We currently have 54 empty shifts for workers. Please call Fred Conner at 727-4730 to volunteer. The work schedule as of Sunday, September 4 will be posted on our website by Thursday Morning, September 8.
Check for a link to the schedule and for the booth phone number near the top of our HutchAMBUCS home page.
By the time you read this newsletter, the final clean-up will have occurred and the booth will be stocked with 180 tubs of ice cream. On September 7 and 8, waffle cones will be made for the beginning of the fair.
Our breakfast on September 9, 2005 will be at the ice cream booth at 7:00 A.M. Our program will be a review of the operations of the booth and training for the new members. Every AMBUC will want to be present to obtain their admission passes for their shifts at the fair. After the program, we will relocate to Central Christian Schools Booth for breakfast.
The club wishes to thank every person who has volunteered their time to work at the booth. We plan to post the work schedule on our website. Please review your scheduled work times, arrive promptly and prepared to work. Do not leave your fellow AMBUCS stranded!
September 9th to the 18th is the most important time of the AMBUC year. Special needs children and adults are depending on us!
The telephone number
for the ice cream booth is 669-8584.
AMBUC GOLF SCRAMBLE: October 7, 2005. Jeff Brewer and Steve Harmon are looking for donated gifts and prizes for the tournament. Please contact them as soon as possible
Remember a fellow ambuc: Jay Pitzer is currently at Wesley Medical Center receiving treatment for leukemia. Please pray for Jays recovery and for Donna as she seeks to care for him. Jay, if you are reading this newsletter, we want you to know that we are looking forward to your return and a complete recovery.
Lori Hopp has informed us that Jay can receive e-mail there at Wesley. She says, “Just go to wesleymc.com. On the right side of the screen is a heading called Wesley Services. From there, click on Patient Email Service. The directions are simple to follow. I sent an email to him Friday morning and it was delivered to his room the same day. Donna said that they both appreciate hearing from people.
“Anyway, I just thought I would pass this information on. Have a great day.”
NEW MEMBERS: Please welcome our newest members, Mark Treaster and Lin Stevens who were sponsored by Doc Powers.
GREAT PLAINS REGIONAL CONVENTION: Sept. 23-24, 2005, Lawton, Okla. Join JoAnn Williams and Ward Davis in Lawton for fun and relaxation at the convention. Early bird discounts are still available for registrations received by Sept. 2nd. This is a perfect opportunity to experience AMBUCS, if you have never been to a convention before. It is also a preview for the regional convention in Hutchinson in 2006 that our club is hosting.
TECH GOLF TOURNAMENT: Our second member of the AMBUC golf team is Al Strecker. Two more spots remain for the lucky ticketholders. You must be present to buy a ticket and win.
Special upcoming guests: On Friday, Sept 16th, Rick Kerr and Ken Clingingfield, both are candidates for Regional Directors. They will be with us to present their platforms regarding the upcoming elections at Regionals in Lawton. They are going to work at the ice cream booth that day as well..
