TUIT REPORT

Rick Mitchell lit up the AMBUCS who did not ask about the TUIT. Steve Harmon, Doyle Ehling and Dennis Reiser (his wife didnt ask!) were contributors. Doug Foss asked several times. Monte the Wizard of Comfort McConnaughy received the TUIT and will be assessing some not so comfortable fines this week.

PROGRAM:

Lori Hopp, Program Chairperson, introduced our guest speaker,

Greg Conrad, Director of the 2006 U.S.G.A. Mens Senior Open.

The tournament will be held July 6-9, 2006 at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. Anticipated attendance is estimated at 125,000 to 130,000 persons during the week. Fourteen hours of national television will serve as an extended commercial for the quality of life that we have enjoyed in Kansas for years.

Mr. Conrad reported that the tournament was progressing steadily towards its goals with 100 companies involved in corporate sales, 200 autos donated by local dealers for use during the tournament and 25% of ticket sales concluded.

Volunteers are still needed to assist with the tournament. The volunteer package includes a pass, two shirts, windshirt, hat and food and beverage while working on shift for only $110.00. To volunteer, call 728-0600.

Before leaving, Greg Conrad provided the club with an autographed photo of Tom Watson which will be auctioned later.

Club Announcements

AMBUCS OLD FASHIONED ICE CREAM BOOTH: Contact Fred Conner at 727-4730 to volunteer. We need every AMBUC to work at least 3 shifts to provide sufficient manpower to operate the booth. No heavy lifting and an air-conditioned environment. All proceeds benefit individuals with the greatest of needs. Please make yourself available during the fair, September 9-18, 2006. The telephone number for the ice cream booth is 669-8584.

MEMBERSHIP: Bob Bush, Membership Chairperson, encouraged AMBUCS to bring guests to breakfast in preparation for Branding Time in October and November. New members are always needed to replace former members whose employment or family circumstances have forced them to retire from the club. Invite a friend or business associate to join you for breakfast. There is no charge for breakfast for our guests. (Imagine having enough members that we only work two shifts at the ice cream booth!)

GREAT PLAINS REGIONAL CONVENTION: Sept. 23-24, 2005, Lawton, Okla. Join JoAnn Williams and Ward Davis in Lawton for fun and relaxation at the convention. Early bird discounts are still available for registrations received by Sept. 2nd. This is a perfect opportunity to experience AMBUCS, if you have never been to a convention before. It is also a preview for the regional convention in Hutchinson in 2006 that our club is hosting.

TECH GOLF TOURNAMENT: September 26, 2005. Chances are being sold for $5.00 to be on the AMBUC squad. Jim Kicklighter is the first to be selected. You must be present at the meetings to buy a ticket!

AMBUC GOLF SCRAMBLE: October 7, 2005. Jeff Brewer and Steve Harmon are looking for donated gifts and prizes for the tournament. Please contact them as soon as possible.

FINES

After the 20 laws of golf from Tom Hymer, it was all downhill from there. Jack Mace was fined first to maintain consistency. Stan McGirvin and Dennis Reiser were fined for being late. Al Strecker was fined for refusing to assist Tom. Steve Conard was fined for sitting in the same chair. Terry Brigman was fined for asking Tom to get him some coffee. Moral of the story: Dont play golf with Tom, follow the beverage cart.
