Mark Treaster, State Representative-a guest of Doc Powers

(and possibly a new member)

Denny Stoecklein-Kansas State Fair Manager.

TUIT REPORT

Scott Saylor returned to conclude some unfinished business; namely to dispose of the round nuisance known as the TUIT. Dean Brigman and Jack Mace did ask. Bill Long did not ask, but was not present. Scott passed the TUIT to Rick Mitchell for safekeeping.

PROGRAM:

Kansas State Fair Manager and a friend to the Hutchinson AMBUCS, Denny Stoecklein, was introduced by our Program Chairperson, Lori Hopp.

Beginning on September 9th and continueint through the 18th, The State Fair is the largest single event in the State of Kansas each year. Activities include competitive entries (over 33,000 from fruit to art to crops), free concerts, dinosaur displays, hypnotism demonstrations and (of course, Bob!) the Budweiser Clydesdales. Grandstand shows feature a variety of entertainment such as The Prairie Home Companion, Big and Rich, ZZ TOP, Ronnie Millsap, Truck and Tractor Pull and Building 429.

The Kansas State Fair is a 100% fee funded agency with 90% of its revenues coming from the fair events. The fairgrounds serve as a host to more than 250 other events throughout the year including horse shows, wedding receptions family reunions and RV rallies. Come enjoy the updated facilities of the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

Club Announcements

AMBUCS OLD FASHIONED ICE CREAM BOOTH: Sept. 9-18, 2005, Kansas State Fairgrounds Our number one fundraising event for those whose needs are greater than our own. When we donate AMTRYKES to children, equipment to TECH or funds for Special Olympics, the primary source for that giving is the profit from the ice cream booth. We have 89 empty slots on the work schedule with the majority on the weekends. Please contact Fred Conner at 663-2769 to volunteer your services. On behalf of the club, we thank those members who have previously scheduled their time. Please contact an AMBUC that you have not seen recently and invite them to join you during your shift.

DONATIONS APPROVED: Donations to Wyatt Shook, Special Populations Bowl-a-thon and the Disability Mentoring Day were approved by the club..

ANNUAL Hutch AMBUC GOLF SCRAMBLE: October 7, 2005, Highlands Country Club. All golfers and golfer wannabes, reserve this date for monster drives. No experience required. All members are invited since we will have breakfast and a program before golfing begins. Anyone wishing to donate prizes, please contact Jeff Brewer or Steve Harmon.

FINES

Tom Hymer provided the instructions on cleaning the dog (definitely not for cat lovers). Guy Gann paid a TUIT tax. Rod and Fred paid for lack of truthfulness (ordinarily a positive for an AMBUC). Duke was fined for not being pregnant. Bob B. and Larry S. were fined for their exposed appendages (legs). Preston was fined for telling the sergeant-at-arms that he was going to rip up his notes and tell him where to put them. John Knipp was late and Lori abandoned the speaker. Jack bought a fine to promote his family reunion.
