CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS:

STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS: Thanks to Harley and the three T.s (Terry, Terry and Tom). There was an excellent turnout for this event featuring Ward Davis as the sponsor, our President, Dorinda Simmons, with the welcoming address and the AMBUC members as hosts throughout the room. The club received excellent positive exposure during the breakfast.

CASINO NIGHT, ATRIUM HOTEL, JANUARY 19, 2017 at 8:30 P.M. Volunteers need to be present at 7:45 P.M. The Kansas Groundwater Association is holding its annual meeting.

PROGRAM: Jim Remar, COO of the Cosmosphere, was introduced by Kathy as our guest speaker. His presentation focused upon the SpaceWorks unit of the Cosmosphere. SpaceWorks builds replicas of space artifacts for groups around the world, fabricates exhibits and preserves space artifacts. SpaceWorks has built full-scale replicas of V-2 rockets, lunar modules and 80% of Apollo 13 props for the film. Liberty Bell 7 as well as recovered Saturn V engines were restored by SpaceWorks. Jim is also a former member of our club.
