Newsletter 05/06/2016

GUESTS: Megan Bartley, Chads daughter and Megan Storie a friend of Megans from HCC and honorary member Colby Davis.

FINES: Jeff Brewer our numero-uno Sergeant lead the way by fining Andrew Parr his Presidential tax. Tom Hymer was fined for not providing a newsletter writer and Steve Conard was fined for not writing the newsletter. Since I was in South Dakota and asked Tom to write for me 2 weeks in advance was not a reasonable excuse and was still fined. Jeff fined everyone who did not come to the club anniversary party. Jeff then followed that by fining for no name badge, no AMBUC pin or breakfast invitation card. Needless to say the toilet over-flowed. Ward Davis and Colby paid to announce again that Reins of Hope will hold a fundraiser golf tournament in Hesston on June 12. A sign-up sheet is now available.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: A special thank you to Randall Haltom for organizing our 35th club anniversary social. Present and past members and guests that attended had a great time.

As a reminder Duke Wiggins has tickets for the National Big Hat Club who is holding a $20 per ticket raffle that will have 4 prizes to be awarded at the National Convention this fall. The prizes are a shotgun, a rifle with scope, a hand gun and $2,500 in cash

PROGRAM: Thad Bartley introduced his daughter Megan. She is graduating from HCC with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. She has been accepted to attend the University of Edinborough in Scotland with a major in Physiology. She would like to one day work with Doctors Without Borders. While attending HCC she was Student Government President, Phi Beta Kappa officer, an active member of Circle K Club and made the Presidents list. She attended classes part-time at WSU and still managed to complete over 400 hours of community service this year. This summer she will be traveling to Texas to work with a traveling Vacation Bible School team visiting 8 churches in June and July. Last year I wrote about her prior trips to Spain, France Italy, Australia and Canada. Megan is one busy lady!
