PROGRAM: Andrew Parr introduced former club member Bob Bush who is campaigning for County Commissioner for District 3 replacing Brad Dillon who is stepping down after 2 terms. Currently no challenger has been announced. Bob grew up in Black Forrest outside Colorado Springs. He holds a Masters degree in Business Management, worked 4 years for the county and 6 years for the state while in Colorado. He and his wife Ann moved to Hutchinson in 1974 to begin work at their families business City Beverage and purchased the business from Anns father in 2004. Bob served two terms or 8 years on City Council and was Mayor twice. Bob said he has really enjoyed working in Government and working with peoples needs. He said that he missed it after finishing his terms on City Council. He said bridge repair and replacement is still a major concern for the county and will always be ongoing. Some differences in the county position from the city position is their responsibility for the operation of the jail and court house and working with the many small towns and townships that make up the county. A future issue will be a decision to keep the present number of commissioners at 3 or increase the number to 5. Bob said that he learned during his last tenure Dont screw up and stay out of the transcripts. Bob would appreciate your vote August 2.
