PROGRAM: Kathy Hanks introduced Steve Conard and Steve Harmon affectionately known as The Steve & Steve Show showed a PowerPoint historical photo presentation of The Kansas State Fair The Early Years. The first Agricultural Fairs were held at a livery stable behind C.C. Hutchinsons bank on the northwest corner of Sherman and Main. This would have been 1872-1874. The first Reno County Fair was held September 28-30, 1875 at Glendale Park approximately a half mile east and south of the Reformatory. Most of us remember this area as The Warf Club. It was held there until 1899. In 1900 the fairgrounds was relocated between 13th and 17th avenues and Main and Maple streets from 1900 through 1912. In 1913 the fairgrounds was moved to the present 20th street location and officially named The Kansas State Fair.
