Sweet Shoppe Update: Chairman Paul H stressed ice cream potion control, which cost us at least $2,000 last year. A scale will be on site,, and managers are expected to train all volunteers on proper scoop size. Cone size and consistency is the other thing we can control. He will demonstrate the proper use of cone-making equipment at the meeting on Friday.
Program: Dorinda Simmons gave an overview of TECH and it’s programs designed to enable challenged individuals to live productive lives. She then introduced Billie Redd, the manager of the Adult Life Skills Programs. Participants learn physical skills such as exercise and dancing. They work on keeping their minds active and developing communication techniques. They also learn money skills and how to practice safe living.Art and painting is very popular withmany of the students.Most of these activities occur at the Training Center at 14 West Avenue B.Manske & Sons and Bretz and Young are sponsoring a concert featuring Suzzy Boguss to raise funds to help complete the remodeling of the Training Center so that all of the activities can be conducted at one location.
