Guests: Lori Hart – Acting Director of the Kansas State Fair and our guest speaker for this morning.

Sergeant’s Corner: Sergeant ScottCooley and Deputy Jeff Brewer collected the weekly presidential fine from President Parr. Dennis Reiser paid for being late, even though he was standing just behind Jay and heading for the lucky aces bucket. Dorinda Simmons paid twice, once for being late this morning and again for missing last week’s board meeting. Don Grossardt paid $5to announce that he and sonBrian’s trip to the Edwardsville, Mo was very successful. They came home with a job plus a signing bonus when he graduates. Hard work pays off.

Sweet Shoppe Update: Chairman Paul H announced that only a few slots remained o be filled as of this morning. He congratulated all members for following through this week. We will be using Braums ice cream this year. They will be making their deliveries on Sept 3rd and 5th. Please contact Paul at 474-0431 if you can be there to help unload. There will be a meeting of the Sweet Shoppe Committee this coming Friday at 6:15.

Program: This will be Lori Hart’s first year as Acting Director of the Kansas State Fair. Not that this is her first experience at many of the duties involved as she spent a number of years as the Assistant Director. This year she will be involved in the entertainment throughout the fairgrounds, the marketing and promotion of the entire fair, the hiring and training of all fair staff, just to mention a few things. She is learning to delegate duties, trusting here staff to followupand report back to her.She fielded questions, and then headed for another long day at work.

Drawings:

Lucky Aces ticket was held by President Parr, who won $5. Next Friday’s total will $69.Newsletter drawing went to Dwight Wiehl, who took home $10. The question for $5 for next Friday is “What brand of ice cream will we be selling at this year’s fair?”.
