Big Hat Friday. Local Big Hat Club responsible for today’s activities.
Guests: Marci Kauffman, Director of Memberships for the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, guest of Colby Davis, and our program for today. Vic Edwards, Financial Advisor guest of Harley Macklin. He will be installed as our newest member at our meeting on Aug 7th.
Sergeant’s Corner: Big Hatters Brad Thompson and Jeff Brewer collected the weekly presidential tax from Andrew Parr. They then singled out Jay Pitzer, Big Hat co/president and one the most decorated local Big Hats, for failing to have his hat with him, and levied an appropriate fine. Then all other Big Hats not sporting their hat paid for their oversight. Big Hat president Duke Wigginspaid $5 for failing to send reminder notices. Then Jeff collected fines from members who could not guess how many miles he drove on his recent vacation. Correct answer – 4027 and one tired butt.

He needs 25-30 workers to pull this off. The date is Saturday Oct 3rd.Jay also encouraged purchasing gift cards at Dillons, as the current program Ambucs shares in is about to end.
Program: Colby introduced our program. Marci Kauffman has visited our club as a staff person for Tech, Inc. Her new position as Director of Membership for the Chamber of Commerce fits her perfectly. She has developed a large base of contacts within the community and has the outgoing personality torecruit prospective Chamber members. Activities such as the Annual Meeting, Business after hours are just a few of her responsibilities.
