Jay was fined for giving cards out and ruining potential fines for the Sgts. All the members paid because of Guy. Fred paid for the DB Society. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS: Jeff Roberson, incoming President, is circulating committee preference sheets to the membership. Sign up for your preferred place of service. Call Jeff if you cannot make it to the meeting to request a committee assignment.
AMBUCS SOCIAL, May 16, 2014: The social at Shirley and Dan Powers house was well attended by the membership. The mounted wildlife from Africa and North America was abundant and diversified. Bear, musk ox and mountain lion were on display. The African wing included an animal with an AMBUC-like appearance (warthog)! Many thanks to Shirley and Dan for their hospitality.
NEW MEMBERS: Keep bringing guests to breakfast! Our best marketing tool is the club membership! We still have over three full months to add new members; and, maybe, reduce the number of shifts per member at the ice cream booth!
PROGRAM: Hutchinson Community College President Ed Berger was introduced as our guest speaker. Our community college provides a high quality education at a reasonable price. HCC continues to serve students primarily from Reno, Harvey and McPherson counties. 45% of the school enrollment is in technical programs. 35% of the current students are enrolled in online courses. The skill sets in demand at the college are allied health, welding, machining and manufacturing. HCC has provided 85 years of excellence with Dr. Berger at the helm for many of those years. We wish him well in his retirement!
