MEETING: Friday, November 22, 2013 EDITOR: Tom Hymer
TODAYS GUESTS: Third time guest Troy Thode is going to join the club.
THE WEEKLY FUND RAISER: Sergeants Brad and Stan rang the bell to commence their tour of duty. Right off the bat John Knipp paid in order to leave early. Duke got fined for being retired and picking up trash in the Kuhn Krause parking lot? Supposedly Doug was telling corny jokes but nobody laughed, whatever. Hey, have you heard that the Department of Agriculture is banning the use of those big round bales you see in the fields. It seems the government wants to be sure that the cattle get a square meal. Groan if you must. Going from table to table the sergeants gathered dollars from Randal Haltom for sending an email, Reta Joy for being the only girl attending today, Terry Brigman and Pat Fallon for sitting with the only girl as she noted her great looking shoes. As the toilet was flooded with dollars, the sergeants rang out, their tour of duty completed.
DOC POWERS: Dennis Reiser said that Doc Powers and Aavon are moving to a new residence at Wesley Towers and will need help with moving belongings on December 5th or 6th. If you can help, call Dennis 620-200-4859.

HELP HEAD START: Fred Conner reminds us that Christmas boxes for Head Start kids will be assembled on Friday December 6th at Trinity United Methodist Church in Thorne Hall. All members of the club are invited to help with this outreach program but will be doing so independently of Ambucs. We will meet and have breakfast at the Towne Club as usual. After announcements all those willing to help will be able to go to Trinity to get started on the project.
TUIT REPORT: Darren Wicks reported on his Tuit experience and passed the thing to Dane Power. Reminder on Tuit Rules, if you see the Ambuc who has the Tuit, you better recognize both him and the Tuit because he will report at the next meeting if you didnt. On the other hand if the Ambuc who is supposed to have the Tuit but doesnt have it, you can rat out that guy by reporting to the Sergeants. If this appears to be snitching, then you understand perfectly.

PROGRAM: Our program today was the program manager himself, Jeff Roberson who discussed computer safety and security in todays information technology world. He spoke of a number of hazards that can infect any computer and cause a lot of damage. There are viruses, hackers, identity thieves, spy ware, and cryptolocker which is a virus that disables a computer and makes all files unavailable. Because it is a ransom scheme the user can pay money to get the files released, nasty. He suggested Carbonite as a good back up program and AVG as good program to combat viruses and other malicious computer threats. Also we should use strong passwords for access to one-line banking, credit cards, and any other important and sensitive data.
