MEETING: Friday, November 15, 2013 EDITOR: Tom Hymer

TODAYS GUESTS: Ambucs District Governor Linda Andrew of Salina. Second time guest Troy Thode is going to join the club. Mike Lueck of the City of Hutchison presenting todays program, and his daughter Cassie was also present.

THE WEEKLY FUND RAISER: The sergeants were cut out of action due to the fact that todays program presenter needed leave at 7:50 a.m.

TUIT REPORT: Darren Wicks still has the Tuit, but not because he wanted it, but because it can only be handed off under the supervision of the sergeants. Reminder on Tuit Rules, if you see the Ambuc who has the Tuit, you better recognize both him and the Tuit because he will report at the next meeting if you didnt. On the other hand if the Ambuc who is supposed to have the Tuit but doesnt have it, you can rat out that guy by reporting to the Sergeants. If this appears to be snitching, then you understand perfectly.

AMBUCS SOCIAL: Jay Pitzer reported about 30 people attended the Social held at Terry Brigmans office, Plaza Astle. Thanks to Terry for making the Social a great success.

REPORT ON THE MEETING OF THE ICE CREAM PARLOR PROJECT: Darren Wicks introduced the meeting by stating the Ice Cream Parlor is a viable money maker and many agree, even though sales have declined in react years. Then the discussion turned to two options: 1) keep the building we have and continue to fix it, 2) build a new one. A new building will look really great, but the cost of it must be considered.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AMBUCS PARTY: Mark your calendars, on Tuesday December 17th at the Town Club, happy hour at 6:00 p.m. Dinner at 6:30 p.m.

STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS: Those members organizing this event will conduct a meeting on December 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce meeting room. Furthermore the event will take place on Thursday January 23rd at the Stringer Fine Art Center. Breakfast will be served beginning at 6:45 a.m.

DRAWINGS: The Lucky Aces Pot was won by Terry Brigman and he got $5. The winner each week will draw a card from a deck of cards. There is now $49 in the pot. Rules of the Lucky Aces Pot – the Joker gets nothing, any card besides the Ace of Spades get $5. Ace of Spades wins the 50/50 pot according to what has accumulated. Jerry Regier could have won the Newsletter pot, but he was absent. For $60 the Newsletter question for the meeting on November 22nd, who is our Ambucs District Governor?

CASINO EVENTS: Jay Pitzer has scheduled these Casino nights.

Midwest Ford December 14th, this a small group, 7 8 dealers needed

Longfellow Foundation December 26, this is major group, all dealers needed

Also there are Casino nights coming up in January 2014, more information to come.

TODAYS PROGRAM: Mike Lueck of the City of Hutchinson directs operations of Hutchinson City Parks, Downtown sidewalks, the Zoo, maintenance, airport safety zone project. One of his most interesting comments was about the otters at the zoo escaping by digging out of their confines and having to capture the critters. In progress is a new otter exhibit facility that requires $500,000 to rebuild. He also reported on the progress of the New Park on 43rd that was donated by Lucinda Piligian. This park is being designed to be accessible for all kids and kids and adults with disabilities.
