Opening Ceremony: Being the fifth Friday of the month, Duke the BigHattercalled the meeting to order, Colby D lead thePrayer andSomebody else lead the Pledge.

Guest included Penny Feist, our speaker, with the Reo County Crime Reduction Initiative, Diane Potter with Spring Board design and Mark Johnson(guest of Doug F)

Sgt’s duty: Doug F and Jay lead the charge. Each Big Hatter was tasked with fining. Jeff B fined Dean because Terry was in the paper, but not present at the meeting, all the Edward Jones guys were fined(easy targets) and Mark T for and newspaper add. Fred Stan and Dean passed. Guy G fined Darren the “Mulligan Hacker.” Duke fined Dane for not having a Presidents pin.

Announcements: Casino night Oct 5 at Holy Cross benefiting the Catholic Schools.

Ambuc of the Day: Harley Macklin, pleaded for someone the ask him to tell the “chicken switch” story, but no one asked. Harley grew up Hutch, moved away to KC for his career and has moved back to Hutch in his retirement.He enjoys Third Thursday, Convention Hall shows, Fox Theater, HCC Football and Basketball and is never able to hunt and fish enough. Fred announced a few remaining shifts at the ice cream booth.

Program: Penny Feist, with the Reno County Crime Prevention Initiative, has been workingwith the group for 9 months. Reno County has property crime 3x the rate of comparable citiesincluding those with prisons in the community. The Initiative is working with the substance abuse programs locally as well.the Governor stated the program withthe aid of a Federal Justice Assistance Grant.
