SGT. REPORT: Sgt. Ward Davis and Asst. Larry Sloan made quick work of the collection process. President Darren paid the short-timer fine. Members without the invitation to breakfast card were assessed a fine. Craig Johnson was fined for being in the newspaper without mentioning AMBUCS.

PROGRAM: Jeff Roberson introduced our program, Jackie Johnston, Marketing Director for PrairieStar Health. PrairieStar Health was born out of a partnership of the Hutchinson Hospital, Reno County Health Department and Horizons Mental Health Center to address uninsured patients with non-emergency needs appearing at the Emergency Room at the hospital for their basic medical care. Patients at PrairieStar are assessed fees for the medical services on a sliding scale. The health center provides service for an eight county area including Reno County. The patient load has increased 40% in the last three years. PrairieStar comprehensive care includes primary medical care, eye care, dental and industrial medicine. The current facility occupies 12,000 square feet in the Trade Center. A new facility will be constructed at the intersection of 30th Avenue and K-61.
