Newsletter 03/23/2012

EDITOR: Paul W. Brown

GUESTS: Paige Kautzer, WSU therapy student, a guest of Jay Pitzer. Colby Davis, son and guest of Dad, Ward Davis.

SGT. REPORT: Sgt. Dennis Reiser and his little buddy, Jeffrey Brewer, collected ill-gotten gains from the membership. Doyle was fined for a short program. Jay got the Edward Jones fine for Dane being gone (and his guest beat him to the meeting). Harley was taxed for his 50/50 winnings. Guy, Anita, Duke, Pat, Larry and Bob B. were fined for being anti-social at a remote table. Tony was also anti-social, but is being listed separately since, for the first time in recent memory, he paid with a REAL greenback. Dean paid for eating before the Sgt. two weeks ago. Larry paid for his cellphone ringing during the meeting (the norm). Duke paid his annual fee for upside-down transfers on T-shirts. Pat paid for snubbing his fellow AMBUCS at the Sports Arena. Everyone paid who did not sign up for extra slots at the T-shirt booth. Dean Brigman bought a fine celebrating Coach Rob Edmissons NAIA National Championship!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Our next meeting on March 30, 2012 is a Big Hatters Breakfast. All Big Hatters need to be present with their hat on their head and arrive on time. (If YOU want to be a Big Hatter, bring in three new members within 12 months and you will be!)

PROGRAM: Our fellow AMBUC, Doyle Ehling, filled in as our program on a last-minute notice. Doyle has been with Elliott Mortuary for 37 years and shared his experiences with the business. Elliotts has its own crematorium as demand has risen for this type of service; including 500 cremations in the last year. The crematorium uses natural gas and burns at 1600 degrees. Doyle recommends pre-arranged funerals to ease the process for your loved ones. The type of service, burial plot and casket or cremation are up to you. Doyle did relate a story about a Cuban Tree Frog that hitched a ride from an exotic plant to the funeral home. Thanks to Doyle for being a long-time member and valued AMBUC.

50/50 WINNER: Tom Hymer-$20.00.

NEWSLETTER DRAWING: Rick Mitchell-not present.

NEWSLETTER QUESTION: What kind of frog did Doyle find at the funeral home?

NEXT WEEKS PROGRAM, MARCH 30, 2012: Frank Chappelle of the Air Capital AMBUCS chapter will speak about a substantial grant their chapter obtained for the purchase of AMTRYKES. (It is a BIG HAT BREAKFAST, DO NOT be late!)
