PROGRAM Curtis Mitchell called the meeting to order followed by a prayer and flag salute. Following breakfast, introductions of guests by member and City Councilman Bob Bush. A new 7 minute video about AMBUCS was shown. Mayor Ron Sellers introduced the city council members. City Manager John Deardoff presented the State of the City address. John has been City Manager for the past 7 years. The city operates 24/7 365 days a year and has 400 employees with 20 operating boards. Probably Johns greatest inheritance upon his arrival was the 2001 expansion of the Salt City Industrial Park to the South. With the arrival of Siemens to the park if you go out there today the lights are on and there is definitely someone home there now. Deardoff said that we should start thinking where the next industrial park will be so that we are ready when opportunities arise. John said, youll have to keep it a secret but Kohls may be coming to Hutchinson. Many other topics and accomplishments were discussed. You can read more about the meeting and even watch a video of the entire meeting at hutchnews.com entitled Injecting some life. Special thanks and hats off to Jerry Regier and members of his committee for putting together possibly the first ever State of the City address. It was a great idea for AMBUCS visibility month and for visibility of our club working in the community. Hopefully we can make it an annual club event. It was Great!!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK Who is AMBUCS National President and in what city does he live?

NEXT MEETING Good question!
