FINES: Sergeants-At-Arms, John and Scott had a great time making up for no fines last week. Some of the fines, but probably not all were: Scott explained to Jeff B, what his responsibilities were last week, and where he came up short, cost Jeff a buck! Next someone from Collins Bus was fined for losing their name badge, Tim covered that fine. Our poor president and Jim J. were fined for supporting the Power-kats. Finally Bob Bush denied being late, but did pay a fine for not promoting AMBUCS during his world travels.
AMBUC OF THE DAY: Curtis Mitchell born and raised in Hutchinson. Graduate of Hutch Juco, and KState. Wife Pam and two children. Curtis has been a member of AMBUCS since 2005 or 06.
TUIT: Duke Wiggins zeroed in on a lot of folks as he had two weeks of opportunity. $1. was collected from Doug on behalf of Jill, Steve C., Don G., Stan M. , Dwight W., Doyle E., Jim J., Dave S., Jay P., Brad T., Rick M., Dan P. Good job Duke! Duke was delighted to pass the Tuit on to a very deserving, Jim Jacobson.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: J Pitzer explained the importance of volunteering to help out with the upcoming casino night for HolyCrossCatholicSchools annual fund raiser. These smaller events add up and help us through the lean times.
REMINDER: Invite guests for our meetings in October and November as it is Fall Branding Time.
Also; Big Hat Club will be hosting a Casino Night for HolyCrossCatholicSchools annual fundraiser, Saturday, OCTOBER 16th from 6-10 pm. All members can participate.
PROGRAM: Tona started by thanking Jeff Brewer and Luminous Neon for the new sign on 30th Street. Tona highlighted needs of the community and explained some of the methodology of how funds are allocated by specific needs after review of much data.. She went into some detail about how they are more focused in terms of spending. Three areas of focus are, Education, Financial Stability and Health. (looking at specific programs within each non-profit organization). United Way is trying to hold at current levels, the reactive line of spending.
