Last Meeting: September 24, 2010 President Rick Mitchell in charge.

Guests: Becky Hughes with Open Door Pregnancy Center, our guest speaker.

Fines: Scott Potucek and Brenda Janda were our Sergeants-At-Arms. Fined first up, President Rick started the meeting late. Randall Haltom fined for being late to an Ice Cream meeting. Don Grossardt fined for his pontificating remark (look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls). Yours truly was fined again for making the history question too hard. Duke Wiggins was fined for being late to work his shift at the booth; he also was fined for not ordering enough ice cream. Those who did not work 4 shifts were fined a dollar. They tried to fine those who preceded Master Sergeant Larry Sloan in line. It didnt fly since they may have been only four people who were behind him. I guess we all need to honor the elderly.

AMBUC of the Day: Dean Brigman is a Charter Member of this club! A Hutchinson native, who attended Hutchinson Community College and Kansas State University, Dean operated a restaurant for 7 years. In 1980 he got involved with oil fields and started Brigman Productions, Inc. which he still operates today as an oil producer; lease operating, lease management and lease purchasing.

TUIT: Geoffrey Tolbert had Doug Foss, Mark Clark and Duke Wiggins fined before handing it off to Duke.

Announcements: WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE TOWN CLUB NEXT FRIDAY October 1st as our clubs annual Golf Scramble is finally here. Meet at the Carey Park clubhouse no earlier than 6:30. Knackies is catering breakfast. You can still come to breakfast even if youre not playing golf. The price for golf is $35 which includes greens fee, cart and two mulligans. Program: Tim Davies introduced Becky Hughes, Director of Open Door Pregnancy Center. They started the center in a small office in 2002 at 21 West 2nd Ave. After several years there they moved to the northeast corner of 4th & Washington at 24 W. 4th Ave. in the former Cox Communications building. After several years there they have just recently moved in July to a building at 315 W. 1st Ave. The new building was purchased by an anonymous donor and given to the center debt free. The building is more home like and will offer more privacy to those they serve. It is a true, heartfelt ministry, for babies. They offer free pregnancy tests, counseling services throughout the pregnancy, pre-natal information, baby supplies, limited ultrasounds, community referrals, adoption referrals and post abortive counseling. They have served 127 women so far this year. There are 1.3 million couples wanting to adopt a child. The center is not a United Way agency nor is it government supported. Their annual Fall Fundraiser Banquet will be October 14th at the Grand Prairie Hotel & Convention Center. Kirk Walden will be their guest speaker. Call the center at 728-2229 if you would like tickets to attend.

50/50 Drawing: Ryan Thompson won $22.00 for the second week in a row. He donated it to the Open Door Pregnancy Center.

Newsletter Drawing: Chuck Peterson was not here so he missed out on $55. Last weeks question: What well known building/business from 1901-1929 preceded the building that is located on the southwest corner of B & Main today where Apron Strings is located? Answer: The Home Theatre. Since you have two weeks to find the answers, this weeks question for $60 is: What was the name of our largest park on the south end of Hutchinson from 1888-1921 prior to becoming Carey Park? In 1921 it became Carey Park named for whom?
