HUTCHINSON AMBUCS NEWSLETTER Duke Wiggins, Editor
Guests this week were Captain Troy Hoover of the Hutchinson Police Dept, hosted by Randy Henderson and Colin Crawford of Elliot Mortuary, hosted by Doyle Ehling.
Sergeants for this morning were Larry S and Scott P, who once again fined Duke W for more inaccurate information in the newsletter. This is my last week as editor, and I trust the new editor will do a better job of note-taking. One more $1 for the kids. Dennis R paid a late fine, then ratted on Jeff R (his new member) for following him in. Rita Joy C paid a cell phone tax from a prior meeting no they dont go away just because they didnt catch you at the time.
Jeff Brewer carried the TUIT last week, and it seemed to hang out with all Jeffs friends. He started off with a terrible pun charging or guest speaker Mr. Hoover with sucking up the dirt before he could get to it. He quickly fined himself while the rest of us groaned. He fined his card buddies for not asking the moved on finally passing the TUIT on to Anita W. Several members paid fines to make announcements. Doug F as for prayers for Jerry Dalton and his family, who lost his father during the week. Curtis M let everyone know that Jay P had been in the hospital this week to have some more kidney stones blasted. Reports are he is doing well and should go home this weekend. Fred C advertised for his local car clubs annual rod show at 6:30 this Saturday evening at Carey Park.
President Rick M then took over and reminded everyone of the Amtryke trailer that needs to be moved to the fairgrounds before the Rod Run on the July 4th weekend. He will circulate an e-mail requesting volunteers to man the trailer during the weekends festivities. He reported that the clubs $500 contribution to Ray Schoonovers Membership Building Fund was received in time for Rays Memory get-together in Enid. Eric S announced an Ice Cream Booth committee meeting for 6:15 next Friday morning, and Preston C announced a Membership and Public Relations Committee meeting at 6:45 the same day.
Randy Henderson introduced Captain Troy Hoover of the HPD, who is the Administrator for the entire department. Mr. Hoover has been with the department for 22 years and has worked in all facets of law enforcement. He has received his training and experience in Hutchinson, and is currently the #2 officer in the department. He devoted most of his time to the structure of the department and how it has been fined-tuned for efficiency. He currently is dealing with the citys budget constraints and how to integrate the available dollars into the departments operations. Thanks to Capt. Hoover for a very informative program.
Drawings: The 50/50 drawing went to Scott P – $21. The Newsletter Opportunity would have been Pam Brooks had she been here. Pot goes to $30 next Friday
Question for next week: Who was the AMBUC of the Day at this meeting and what is the name of his favorite dog?
