Hutchinson Chapter of Ambucs Jim Seitnater, Editor

Welcome Guests: Jerry Regier introduced Dr. Bill Davis and Dick Steiner, todays program. Mark Clark brought his daughter Ashley. Since his sponsor Tim Davies was late, Jay Pitzer introduced John Dresher our newest member. If Tim makes it on time next week, we may get him officially installed.

Sergeants: Sergeants Knipp and Randy Hendrickson fined several board members for being late to the meeting, including himself. He fined Tim D for being late and not introducing his new member. He then asked all who had brought a guest to breakfast last year to stand and proceeded to fine the few who were left sitting. Tuit Report: Brad Thompson called out Jim Jacobs for his handling of last weeks tuit transfer and purple repainting. He then fined so many that I couldnt keep up. Brad then exposed the purple tuit as an imposter introduced during John Knipps recent possession, costing the Sgt a buck. Brad then replaced the purple tuit with a much larger version accessorized with a belt loop attachment for John Knipps possession.

Presidents Message: Scott Potucek reported that the club was in good financial shape and grew members in 2009. Scott then talked about the upcoming Visibility Month and introduced Jay Pitzer to talk about membership. Jay announced Steak Night II on Friday April 30th and challenged all members to invite a guest to attend. The first Steak Night was a success and helped recruit 8 new members. Jay reminded all to use the plastic tuits and invitation cards to recruit new members and to invite them to breakfast to experience the club. Jay mentioned new groups like the YP as potential new members. Mark Clark suggested that we link Ambucs website to the YP website and Bob, the Webmaster, agreed to look into accomplishing this.

Program: Jerry Regier introduced Dr. Bill Davis, who then introduced Dick Steiner who has lost 70 lbs using the Take Shape for Life program after suffering a stroke 3 yrs ago. Dick has maintained his weight and health through the maintenance program. Dr. Davis shared that over 30% of Americans are overweight and obese and over 20,000 doctors now endorse the Take Shape for Life program. The program offers Health Coaches who help those new to the program and they meet on Tuesday & Wednesday at 5:15 pm at the Hutchinson Public Library.

Drawings: Stan McGivirin won $25 in the 50/50 pot. Rick Mitchell correctly answered the newsletter question and returned his winnings to the pot for next weeks drawing. The Newsletter question for the next meeting on January 22nd is How many new members resulted from Steak Night I?
