Weekly Meeting of the Hutchinson Ambucs: Tom Hymer, editor

Welcome Guests: Recipient for an Amtryke and family; Carolyn Sayler, therapist; Jeff Pelischek and Dorcas Smith; providing todays program invited by Guy Gann; John Dresser, HR director at Collins and guest of Tim Davies.

Sergeants: John Knipp and company fined a whole bunch of inconsiderate people going through the breakfast line before the guests. This prompted Preston Clark to claim the Doug Foss Fine Exemption Privilege earned by bringing a lot of new members into the club. However he paid anyway due to the threat of being bludgeoned by the toilet. Then the sergeant attempted to sell the unclaimed Christmas cards from the Christmas party at the Airport Steakhouse, ha ha ha, good luck with that. And because The People Want to Know what does Curtis Mitchell do at the Promise? He happily paid with an unintelligible comment, very clever. President Potucek was fined for disrupting todays board meeting by clanging his silver coins, what? Jay Pitzer paid a fine to praise his loyal band of casino dealers. Jay also said that he recently had a colon screen and urged the membership to do likewise. Doug Foss commented that he listens to the radio and heard Jim Seitnator approbating our club. Way to go Jim!

Tuit report: The tuit made its return today via a proxy, Diane Sanders. After commenting that the Tuit is painted red she gave it to Jim Jacobs. He seemed overly delighted to get it.

President message: Scott Potucek said he is proud of the job we did preparing the boxes for Head Start. He listed a number of club accomplishments and that printing T-shirts could be a wayof creating more fund raisers.

Community Service report: Preston Clark announced that $500 is approved for T.E.C.H. They requested for $1,933 for computer equipment and technological devices. He noted that while $500 is going to help, he suggested members on their own accord could make individual donations to help T.E.C.H. and to contact them directly. You can contact our Ambucs member at T.E.C.H. Diane Saunders at 620-663-2216, email diane@techinc.org . Also Community Service approved $250 for Sundance Farm that offers therapy horses similar to Reins of Hope.

Amtryke recipient: Today Breana Glespie got her first Amtryke. She is 12 years old and has autism. Her family was present and Doug Foss introduced Breanas mother Evelyn Howe, sister Alexis Glespie, and Helen Howe grandmother. Also present was Breanas therapist Carolyn Saylor. Thanks to Doug Foss for his work on Amtrykes and to Preston Clark who made transportation arrangements. It was noted that the Al Strecker memorial fund contains about $5,000 in donations from his family and friends which is designated for Amtrykes according to the wishes of the family.

Program: Guy Gann arranged todays program Jeff Pelischek Hutchinson Community College band director and his accompanist Dorcas Smith. Jeff playing clarinet and Dorcas piano they gave us wonderful Christmas songs and music during breakfast.

Drawings: Ron Williams won the 50/50 pot of $25 for the second time in a row! Of course he claims he never wins anything, ever, hey Ron, you think we can believe that? Pam Brooks name was drawn for the newsletter question, she seemed to know the question but her answer was wrong. The newsletter question for the next regular meeting on January 8th, 2010 is: “Who was the accompanist for Jeff Pelischek?”

Future Programs: To be announced.

Next meeting: January 8th, 2010. Every member wishes every member a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
