GUESTS

None. (Ahem. Need we remind the AMBUCS that this is Spring Roundup?).

TUIT REPORT

Contrary to the report in last weeks newsletter, Monte McConnaughy did not possess the Tuit. It was Stan Macgirvin

who held the circular wonder. (Stan admits he did feel younger and could finally face himself in the mirror!) Stan

welcomed one of our newest members, Shawn Teichmann, by blessing him with the Tuit. Shawn will be standing

on the corner of 11th & K-61 proudly displaying it! (The Tuit, that is.)

PROGRAM:

Prior to the infamous drawings below, Jo Ann Williams was to introduce our speaker, Jay Smith of the Reno County Museum. However, Mr. Smith was apparently lost in the archives and will be appearing at a later date. Our valued President, Eric Steinle, leaped, or perhaps leapt, to the rescue by introducing multiple AMBUCS OF THE DAY. The honored members were Shawn Teichmann, Kent Harris, Chuck Peterson, Kevin McCarthy, Al Strecker and Preston Clark. If you wish to know more about them, just sit at their table next meeting.

Club Announcements

Ice Cream Booth: June 19-24, 2004. Great North American RV Rally. The sign-up sheet is being circulated for workers for this event. Please volunteer for two shifts so that we have sufficient staff. (This will be much slower paced compared to the volume of customers at the Kansas State Fair. New members are encouraged to come learn the techniques of waffle cone making and ice cream dipping while the training opportunity exists. You will need to develop these skills now for use in September.)

T-SHIRT BOOTH: Little River Suicide Hill Trail Run, Saturday, May 29, 2004. Our thanks to Don Grossardt, Jessica Sadowsky, Doug Foss and Jeff Frizzell for their commitment to operate the T-shirt booth at this event. They will be preparing T-shirts in advance on Friday evening and handling sales throughout Saturday morning. Proceeds benefit children who are counting on us.

MEMBERSHIP CONTEST: Our next meeting is the last opportunity to bring a guest or new member for the contest. Points will be totaled; and the team leaders will be appropriately punished. Our thanks to Greg West for leading the club to Blue Chip status. If you check the awards on our banners, you can see that it has been a number of years since that has been achieved.

INSTALLATION BANQUET: Friday, June 4, 2004 – V.F.W. Meeting Hall, 4th & Van Buren. There is still time to reserve your places for the banquet. A sign-up sheet is being circulated at the meetings and reservations may be made with Jeff Frizzell at 665-5551(Ext. 312) or by e-mail at JEFFFRIZZELL@KANOX.COM. Miss Vicki and her fledgling crew will be swearing allegiance to the AMBUCS masses after the dinner provided at the clubs expense. Drinks are at the expense of the members. Social hour-6:00 P.M. Dinner approximately-7:00 P.M.

DONATIONS APPROVED: The membership approved a $600.00 donation to TECH for the purchase of a computer and the donation of an AMTRYKE at the National Convention to the Denver Childrens Hospital. Our time and effort allows these donations to be made.

FINES REPORTED ?????

Publisher’s note

We are unable to publish fines for this week since we received no report. However, remember that Sgt. Brad has promised something special for Friday, May 28 if everyone is wearing an AMBUCS pin. We are anxious to see what a surprise he has in store so everyone, please, please wear your pins.
