GUESTS

Mike Conley with Krause Plow, a guest of Duke Wiggins with help from Christopher Johnson.

TUIT REPORT

Lori Hopp tried to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the TUIT portion of the meeting by sporting a TUIT, which had garnered a tattoo this

past week and renamed it the Tattooit. Brad Thompson collected the necessary one-dollar for her to be able to pass it on but

also an additional dollar as a Sorry Tax for her sorry story and not having any names of others to collect money from.

Brad then helped her to select Pat Fallon to carry the TUIT this next week in hopes that Pat will be back then.

PROGRAM:

David Ross introduced Neal Allsup, Guest Conductor of the Reno County Choral Society. Neal informed us that the Choral Societys busy in final preparation of their 66th performance of G. F. Handels Messiah. This year it will be held in the Historic Fox Theatre on Palm Sunday, April 4th at 3:00 PM. There are still some tickets available in all 3 different price/seating arrangements. Our very own Duke Wiggins has been singing in the Messiah for approximately the last 25 years. Guest soloists this year include Charlene Ayers, soprano, Brian Stranghoner, tenor, Robin Rives McAdoo, alto and Glen Litke, baritone. The wonderful acoustics of the Fox will make this years event truly magnificent and memorable.

Club Announcements

McFarland Family: Eric Steinle announced that he and Doug Foss had taken it upon themselves to make Gabrielle and Milo McFarland both T-shirts from our tournament booth. They visited last week along with their brother Ross who was given an AmTryke and a Basketball tournament T-shirt.

T-Shirt Committee:Bob Bush said they were about half the number of misprints and left over shirts and hats than last years tournament operations. These items were available for sale today and again next week for $5.00 for shirts and $10 for polo and denim shirts and $2.50 for hats. A meeting will be held Tuesday night March 30th in the warehouse behind Central Printing to count inventory and finish printing the balance of the orders taken at the tournament.

Board Officers: Vicki Fultz announced her list of officers for the next club year. Those were Vicki Fultz, President. Jo Ann Williams, 1st Vice Pres., Scott Saylor, 2nd Vice Pres., Ward Davis, Secretary, Don Grossardt, Treasurer, Bob Bush, Sgt. At Arms and Lori Hopp, Larry Sloan, John Knipp and Jessica Sadowsky as Board Members at large.

Community Service Committee: After a second reading of the Community Service requests, a vote was then taken and all 4 items passed. Those items were: 1. Our club is providing 4 AmTrykes to children here in Kansas on the National Wish List. This was a change from 5 as Dodge City AMBUCS agreed to provide one to the girl in Jetmore. 2. A $500 contribution to be given to Mikayla Heddings towards an $11,000 special oxygen treatment in Kansas City to help with her CP (Another omission, I really did write all these up I just forgot to proof it after I typed it) 3. A $500 contribution to Special Olympics of Kansas as a Bronze level corporate sponsor. 4. A $500 contribution to Hutch./Reno Cty. Hawks Special Olympics with an additional $250 designated to sponsor additional children to attend the Special Olympics of Kansas competition.

FINES COLLECTED

Sgt. at Arms Brad Thompson along with assistance from Deputy Stan Macgirvin collected this weeks fines. Yours truly was fined for leaving out the comedy, I mean fine, portion of the newsletter last week. I did forget to type it and with Jack Maces help added it on Wednesday (It didnt matter to Brad and he fined me anyway). So, if you want the rest of the story its in the archive section. A hat with an upside down transfer was entered into evidence and Duke Wiggins was promptly fine. It was later announced that Duke did not ruin any shirts this year with upside down transfers. So, either the hat was a trumped up offense or he missed the hat portion of the training sessions. Eric Steinle was fined for being late. The rest of the fining session was collecting fines from all those in attendance that had not worked the tournament T-shirt fundraiser. Needless to say Brad knows how to increase our revenue.

An Attaboy was given to our own Tony Powers who, a couple weeks back, was driving down 30th and noticed an explosion. He stopped, and along with 2 other gentlemen from the neighborhood, broke into a home on fire at the corner of Independence Road and Catalina Dr. trying to locate anyone who might be inside. Finding no one home they left the smoke filled structure as the fire department arrived on the scene. No one was injured other than some minor smoke inhalation. One-half of the duplex suffered major damage and two pets were lost in the fire.
