TUIT
Kip Hildebrand kept the Tuit for New Years. He even took it with him while observing in the jail New Years Eve.
Curtis Mitchell and Jay Pitzer were fined for not asking.
Curtis Mitchell is now the proud bearer of the Tuit. Good luck!
FINES
Jim Kicklighter and Eric Steinle for their lighthearted and occasionally nearly offensive antics on Friday morning.
All the Edward Jones gang Dan Power, Jay Pitzer, & Darren Wicks – were fined for their free power point advertisement. Also, Darren Wicks was fined for being late to the Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting hes the Chairman of the Board! Doug Foss paid for receiving phone calls during the presentation (something about his wife giving bad directions yeah, right Doug!). Tom Stanton and Duke Wiggins paid for cutting in front of the Sgts. in the breakfast line.
Stan Macgirvin had sold a dishwasher, which broke down after just 5 days. Then Chuck Peterson piped up about being married to HIS dishwasher for 40 years. (According to my wife, whatever Chuck paid was not near enough!) Yours truly paid again for my washing machine fiasco this time for making Nancy help me carry the drum out of the basement. (Regardless, DING/DONG the washing machine is dead!)
Curtis Mitchell was fined for being on the front page of the newspaper New Years Day, but no mention of AMBUCS. (Seriously, Curtis and his family are doing great things by being a Big Family to a young man from Big Bros./Big Sisters!)
PROGRAM
Dan Power gave a presentation of his hunting expedition inside the Arctic Circle. Dan, seven other hunters from Edward Jones in Denver and their guide went on a Cabellas organized hunt at the end of October when hunting season begins in that part of the world.
There are seven hours of daylight there, as compared to 2-3 hours this time of year. With the horizon and sky both completely gray, it is hard to discern between the two. It took 2 days of travel to arrive to their destination, including 4 flights and 12 hours by snowmobile. The average temperature during that time of year is 35 40 degrees below zero.
Dan said there was a real heat wave while he was there in that the temperature only was 20 degrees below zero. Otherwise, at the normal temperature skin freezes in just 33 seconds. Cabellas provided the outerwear, which consisted of bib overalls & parkas with 2 of goose down.
Dan was there to hunt Caribou and Musk Ox. He successful returned with both. Actually, he donated the meat from both animals to a childrens home. He brought the skin w/head home and is having them stuffed as full mounts.
The cost of living is extremely high there: a pineapple cost $20.19; carrots are $5.99 each and a grilled cheese sandwich will set you back $13.00.
AmTryke Presentation
Devin Massey, 3 years old, was presented with an AmTryke Friday. He is the son of Shonette and Jarrett. We received Devins referral from Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
